New features in Saved Game Manager 2.2
There have been some major internal changes in Saved Game Manager 2.2. Not all of these will seem to make a difference at first, but they do help. You may find this version a lot faster than previous versions.
- Manager now compiled with VB6
I have finally upgraded from Visual Basic 4.0 to version 6.0, with its native code compiler and so on. This means that only one set of runtime files has to be distributed (neither the VB4 or 5 runtimes are required any longer) and you may notice a speed increase with the Manager.
- New Game menu commands
There are now Select All and Deselect All menu commands.
- F1 help added
You can now hover over a menu item and press F1 to jump directly to the help topic for that item.
- Compress games directly from Explorer
You can now compress or decompress games directly from the Windows shell, without having to start the Manager.
- TTDPatch fixes
The Manager works better with TTDPatch saved games now. It supports the new TRPxx.SV1 filename system for games that use morevehicles, and doesn't cause errors when getting more information on morevehicles games. This type of game is now shown as a TTDPatch game in directory listings and in the Get Information dialog.
- Setup improvements
The Setup program can now also detect Saved Game Manager 2.0 and 2.1 and remove them.
- Plug-in installation improvement
If the Manager is unable to load a plug-in, it can now check the PLUGINS2.INI file for a filename, and attempt to self-register the DLL.
- Other bug fixes and improvements
There are also other small bug fixes and improvements included in this version of the Manager, such as improved error checking and other fixes and optimisations.
